| Written by Paul Thomson | Posted in Clubs Updated 28-Mar | Malia is without question the party capital of Crete and with its numerous nightclubs and bars it offers pretty much 24 hours drinking for those who want to party hard. Malia caters mainly for the foreign tourist and is very much seen as an 18-30’s kind of place, it started catering to clubbers in the early 1990’s and has since exploded in popularity.

Officially declared in 1962 as a National Park there are many different routes you can take when you walk the gorge; depending on your fitness and free time, you can go for a couple of hours or a day-trip up to longer excursions (Tourline.EU offers full day tours). To fully navigate the Samaria Gorge to the fullest I would recommend making at least a day of it as it can take 5-6 hours to walk from one end to the other.

Crete is the largest Greek Island and is located further south than any other European island. This makes the island the biggest tourist destination in Greece. Tourist information Crete offers will tell you how you can find everything you want in a vacation here. Because of the island being such a large attraction, there are more well-developed resorts and tourist spots while also offering quiet off-the-beaten track villages and attractions. As with the other Greek Islands there are beautiful beaches, mountains with plenty of hiking trails, lively nightlife and historical sites like Greek ruins. Oh, the history of Greece is rich in Crete. | | Written by Anna James | Posted in General Updated 19-Feb | There are various ways to get around Crete, some of the main ways are buses, taxis, transfers, hire cars and ferries. In rural areas roads are narrower and there is very little signage, so it may be more adventurous than you were planning on.
